The Challenge

This independent high school required a full-site electrical compliance program across classrooms, administration, and specialist areas. Like many schools, they faced budget pressure and had previously engaged low-cost providers who skipped essential steps such as leakage testing, tagging, and reporting—leaving safety gaps for both students and staff.

The challenge was to deliver a high-quality, fully compliant service for a large site without overloading the school's annual budget.

Electrical compliance testing at independent high school in Macarthur, NSW

Example of staged electrical testing in progress.

Our Solution

We created a staged testing schedule to make the process cost-effective and disruption-free:

Stage 1: Main Site

Tested 1,900 electrical items across classrooms and administration areas

Stage 2: IT Areas

Revisited three months later, testing 400+ items in IT administration and storage

Value-Added Service

Replaced damaged plugs/sockets at no charge and supplied 5 surge-protected powerboards

Complete Testing

Earth continuity, insulation resistance, and leakage testing per AS/NZS 3760:2022

Exceptional Documentation

Testing generated 46 pages listing in detail all site electrical assets per room or location, providing an exceptionally thorough digital compliance record for the entire site.

Ongoing Technician Training

All our technicians are retrained annually to stay current with testing standards and safety regulations.

The Result

The school received a complete compliance package of more than 500 pages of digital documentation, providing clear traceability for future WHS or insurance audits. Testing was scheduled around the school timetable, ensuring no disruption to classes and transparent, staged invoicing.

All items that failed were removed from service immediately, following notification to the client.

The result was a safe, compliant, and fully documented site—achieved through a partnership approach rather than a one-off transaction.

The Challenge

We were engaged by the Project Safety Manager for a major $595 million NSW Government infrastructure project to review and improve the site's portable fire protection.

The mission was to bring the site up to standard and in line with its risk assessment controls. Despite the project's scale, the fire safety setup was under-resourced — with too few extinguishers for the risks identified.

Initially, our proposal had been passed over for a cheaper provider. Unfortunately, the lower-priced contractor completed a rushed job that failed to meet Australian Standards. The site's fire coverage, documentation, and signage all fell short of the project's risk profile, prompting the client to seek a reliable solution that would stand up to audit and operational scrutiny.

Our Solution

We began by conducting a comprehensive site walkthrough alongside the Project Safety Manager and HSE team to identify the fire safety assets already in place and determine what was required for full compliance.

Asset Mapping

Documented all existing ABE and CO₂ extinguishers, fire blankets, and safety signage.

Gap Analysis

Identified missing or incorrectly located extinguishers in relation to site-specific risks.

EV Charging Station Compliance

Introduced an EV fire extinguisher (Lithium-Ion Battery extinguisher) — a first for the client — after sourcing the correct unit at a competitive cost.

Asset Reallocation

Recycled and reallocated compliant extinguishers to new positions, avoiding unnecessary purchases.

Asset Tracking

Assigned unique asset numbers to every extinguisher for ongoing maintenance tracking in harsh outdoor environments.

Signage Audit

Identified and rectified unsafe signage practices — including previous use of Blu-Tack to affix signs, which breaches the relevant Australian Standard.

Digital Compliance Reports

Included full documentation by location, class, and size of each extinguisher, far exceeding the checklist-style reports provided by the previous company.

The Result

The project achieved full compliance and alignment with risk assessment controls across two major sites. Compared to competing providers, our service:
